COMMONWEALTH CONTINENCE AIDS ASSISTANCE SCHEME (CAAS)

CAAS provides a subsidy of up to $479.40 per year for continence products. To be eligible for CAAS you must be five years of age or older and:
- have permanent and severe incontinence caused by an eligible neurological condition (eg spina bifida, cerebral palsy, paraplegia and quadriplegia, intellectual disability, Developmental Delay associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, acquired neurological conditions (including Alzheimer’s), degenerative neurological diseases and bladder innervation disorders; or
- have permanent and severe incontinence caused by another condition, and hold a Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) or are the dependant of a PCC holder.

INCONTINENCE PAD SCHEME (IPS)
IPS continues to accept new referrals for children aged 3-4 years and 5-15 year olds, who are ineligible for CAAS. IPS provides a subsidy for continence aids up to $470 for new referrals. Children who received IPS prior to June 2007 will receive combined assistance from CAAS and/or IPS at their previous subsidy level. New referrals for IPS support must be between 3 and 15 years of age, ineligible for CAAS, live at home, have chronic incontinence and their parents/carers receive the Carers Allowance (Child). WESTERN AUSTRALIA CONTINENCE MANAGEMENT AND ADVICE SERVICE
(WA CMAS)
The state-funded WA CMASS provides continence advice, assessment and management support for seniors, adults and young people over 16 years of age with low incomes, and a continence aids subsidy of $470 for people who are not accessing a Commonwealth funded scheme or aged care home. To be eligible for this service, advice and/or subsidy, adults must have a defined chronic or intractable continence condition and hold either a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card. The WA CMAS service is managed by Silver Chain Inc. Further information can be obtained by calling
